The cold open of the new season of Saturday Night Live featured Ramy Youssef as New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, getting another visit from President Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson). It was a riff on their latest meeting earlier this week, an unlikely lovefest between the left wing mayor and the right wing commander in chief.

Following the show's four-month break, the very first sketch upon its return opened with Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) dropping in to check up on Mayor Mamdani (played by Ramy Youssef) ahead of the nor’easter that's been raining Hell down on the East Coast.
